Challenge Blog - Valentines Card

Another busy couple of weeks, again I have not had as much time as I would have liked to to do any crafting, my list of projects are starting to stack up.  Also this week my Wedding Invite material invite material turned up, so that will be my next big task.  But first I have my mother visiting this weekend to go and look at wedding dresses and identify a style I like.

Since my Fiance has been doing breakfast shift it makes it a little more difficult for me to make any cards for him.  So last night I sent him upstairs to start messing around with some old Desktop PCs that we have so that I could take the opportunity to make valentines card for him.

I have recently got round to buying a raspberry board for my Grand Calibur as well as a couple of embossing folders for it - one of which is a hearts one.  I decide that i would use this on some vellum for the card.  I also took advantage of some DoCraft Vintage Notes toppers and sentiments, combined with paper from Me to You with Love paper stack.

For this card I used the following challenges:

So using the materials and inspiration above, here is the card that I created for my fiance.
The presents are all wrapped and card is made... so that valentines all sorted for next week.  Wedding dress shopping this week and then onto the invitation making next week; hopefully i will have a time to stop by and do some challenges as well though.

Challenge Blog - Best Mates Birthday

Well, it has been a busy couple of weeks and unfortunately I have not had any chance to do any craft projects.  I have however started turning the spare room into more of a study / studio to give me some more space, and give my fiance some space for his photography.

It's my best mates birthday on Saturday, unfortunately I don't get to see him as much as I would like to but I always try to give him something good for his birthday. As part of his Birthday present I brought him some Cinema tickets (he is a huge cinema fan) so I wanted to make him a card which could hold these.

I was inspired for this card by Sketch Saturday's sketch as below:

Also I being a card for a great male mate I wanted to use the Allsorts Challenge Blog  masculine theme.

I made this card using Bronze ink with a Papermania Square Urban Stamp on some white card stock.  I also used Papermania Chronology 8 x 8 papers pack, and Chronology Gears as embellishments.

On the inside I wanted to create a pocket to put the cinema tickets in.  I created this using a Chronology Post-card topper.

This is the first "Steampunk" themed card that I have made, but I did really enjoy making it, and I am looking forward to using the chronology elements more in my designs in the future.

Challenge Card

Well I have finally got up to speed with my Blog; and will all of the January Friends and Family Birthday Cards done I decided that it would be nice to do my first Challenge Card.

I am new to these challenge cards, but decided that I would start them this year to help me to develop my existing skills and to help learn new skills.

There are 3 challenge blogs that helped inspire me for this card - both the Less is More Challenge 101 and Simon Says Stamp challenges are "Black and White with a Splash of Colour" this week; also I have used the Sketch Saturday Week 240 sketch as shown below.

These challenges inspired me to come up with the design as shown in the pictures below.

I hope you like the card. I hope this will be the first of many challenge cards I complete.

3rd Card of the Year - 6th January

Well here is another of my catch up blogs.  The 3rd card of the year was a Birthday card for my Mom's Birthday.  I don't live very close to my mom so I have to make an effort to go and visit her or to have her down to visit me.

This weekend me and the fiance will be going up to stay with her for the weekend; unfortunately that means no crafting for me. I am sure he will continue clicking with his photography. My mom like me loves Art Deco (although my preference is Charles Rennie Mackintosh).  When we went to the Range last week I picked up some Do Craft Art Deco papers; Decoupage sheets and embellishments so decided to use them for the theme of my moms card.

Here are the photos of the card that I have made for her using one of the Decoupage sheets. I hope you like.

2nd Card of 2013- 3 Jan

I am still playing catch up on my blogging.

My second card for 2013 was a Birthday Card for my Fiance's Mums Birthday.  Here Birthday was the 7th of January; and she loves Butterflies so I decided to use this as a theme for the card.

I am a subscriber to "Lets Make Cards" magazine, and in the January edition they had lots of butterfly papers etc.  I also used some embellishments that I already had in my stock; some of which I had brought specifically with this Birthday card in mind.

So here are some photos of the Birthday Card I made for her.

1st Card of 2013

I am a bit behind in blogging; so now trying to catch up.

I made my first 2013  card back on the 1st of the month.  With my maid of honor's birthday being on the 6th January I wanted to make a nice card to get into the post for her.  Unfortunately I live miles away from her so I don't get to see her as often I would like.  She is also a very busy person always doing everything for everybody else and doesn't get alot of time alone with her husband; so I brought her a pair of Cinema tickets so that they would be able to get some time together just to 2 of them!

This was the the first card I made using the Grand Calibur that I got for Christmas and I automatically fell in love with it.  I cant wait to build my stock of dies, and to experiment with it more. I also used some new papers which I brought in a DoCraft gift bag down at the range earlier in the week.

Anyway here are some photos of the card, I hope you like them!

New to this

So I am new to this, but have decided as its 2013 to start a blog for my crafting masterpieces.  I have also decided that I want to improve my skills and start to create cards not specifically for a special occasion but to start to build a stock pile of my completed cards.

Hopefully you will enjoy my blog and will offer me lots of help and advice over the up and coming months.
